Doctoral project
Surface tomography
The aim of the present project is to develop Surface X-ray Diffraction (SXRD) tomography. This will make it possible to determine surface structures of much more realistic samples than the single crystals that are more commonly studied. The concentrated and intense X-rays from the latest generation of synchrotrons, in combination with a tomographic analysis method will enable spatially resolved SXRD measurements. This will open-up new opportunities for investigations of the relation between surface structure and function within a wide range of applications. The methods will within the project be applied to catalytical and electrochemical reactions such as the reconstruction of the gold surface during electrochemical reactions.
